The Company

The Elmira Stove Works story began over thirty years ago. Tom Hendrick's hardware store in Elmira, supplied wood-burning cook stove parts to the local Mennonite community. Eventually, replacement stoves became too difficult to find and parts were in short supply. As a result, the hardware store started producing "antique" cook stoves using designs that dated back to the 1800's. Hendrick's antique stoves were a 'hit' and they were sold to numerous farmhouses and cottages across North America. As the business grew, requests for more modern, convenient versions started accumulating. By the mid 1980's, Elmira Stove Works started producing a series of antique-styled ranges powered by electricity and gas. In 1990, the company began developing what has now evolved into Elmira's current appliances with state-of-the-art features and conveniences.

Today, the company has two very unique and distinctive appliance lines. The Antique Appliance line offers the 1850's warmth and tradition of country, Victorian, and century home kitchens, while the Northstar Appliance line offers the fun and nostalgia of retro 1950's kitchens.
